The CSRF has looked after the welfare of retired civil servants and their partners/dependants for over 40 years. We support a wide range of volunteering, visiting and welfare activities that take place throughout the country and have a network of nearly 300 social groups operating in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland who provide an extensive range of leisure pastimes to members.

Department of Education (DE)
The department is responsible for all aspects of the education and related services, including all administrative services. The Department focuses on pre-school, post-primary, special education and youth services and on increasing the effectiveness and quality of the overall education system. Higher and further education is not the responsibility of the Department of Education and is instead overseen by the Department of Employment and Learning. It is part of the Executive.

Department of Finance and Personnel (DFP)
The department is part of the Executive and its mission is to help “secure the most appropriate and effective use of resources and services for the benefit of the community”. To achieve this, the department focuses on delivering efficient public services and administration.

Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety (DHSSPS)
The department’s aim is to “improve the health and social well-being of the people of Northern Ireland.” The department and the Minister make legislation and policy decisions in three main areas of health and social care, public health, and public safety. Some individual health policy issues, such as surrogacy and human genetics, are reserved to Westminster. It is part of the Executive.

Department for Regional Development (DRD)
Its goal is to “improve quality of life by securing transport and water infrastructure and shaping the region’s long-term strategic development.” Responsibilities include regional strategic planning and development, transport strategy, sustainable transport, public roads, public transport, air and sea port, and water and sewerage services. Navigation and civil aviation are reserved to Westminster. It is part of the Executive.

Our Public Weather Service (PWS), provides forecasts for the public to help them make informed decisions about their day-to-day activities. The National Severe Weather Warning Service is also a part of this, providing advance notice of weather which could affect public safety.

The Office is responsible for authorizing the issue of money from the Northern Ireland Consolidated Fund to aid the NI Departments to function within their necessary expenditure, and for ensuring that collection of revenue is sound. They also run the external audit for the central government bodies in NI. The NIAO is wholly independent of the government.

We do this through a framework of customised and national qualifications that provides opportunities for all learners to achieve.

Prince’s Trust - Stand 18
Youth charity The Prince's Trust helps change young lives, giving practical and financial support, and developing key workplace skills such as confidence and motivation. It works with 13-to-30-year-olds who have struggled at school, have been in care, are long-term unemployed or have been in trouble with the law. Last year, more than three in four young people supported by The Trust moved into work, education or training.  The Prince’s Trust helps more than 3,000 disadvantaged young people in Northern Ireland each year.
