Government is taking the “tried and tested” route to procurement, rather than stimulating innovation, according to chairman of the science and technology committee Lord Krebs.

Speaking in a House of Lords debate addressing his committee's recent report on this subject, Lord Krebs called for more ministerial leadership and better links between civil servants and academics to foster innovation.
