What is NICS Live?


NICS Live is the major event of 2012 for the Northern Ireland Civil Service to meet and discuss the future of government and service delivery.

It will bring Northern Ireland Civil Servants together under one roof to learn, share and promote innovation together with the private sector, public, and community and voluntary sectors to share best practice, solutions and approaches.

The one day event will feature plenary sessions and workshops.  There will be a wide range of high profile speakers from Ministers and members of the Northern Ireland Civil Service through to the private, public and voluntary community sectors.

Sub-themes will include: Growing a Sustainable Economy and Investing in the Future; Creating Opportunities, Tackling Disadvantage and Improving Heath and Well-Being; Protecting Our People, the Environment and Creating Safer Communities; Building a Strong and Shared Community; and Delivering High Quality and Efficient Public Services.

Who is this event for?

This event is open to a range of audience groups, including:

•    Northern Ireland Civil Service staff;
•    Ministers;
•    Wider public sector partners; and
•    Private sector and community and voluntary sector partners.

How much does it cost to attend?

NICS Live is free for all Northern Ireland civil servants of any grade.

Is catering provided?

Attendees will be able to buy lunch and refreshments from various catering points throughout the venue.

There will also be seating areas for those who wish to bring their own lunch with them.

Who is running the event?

The event will be run by Dods, who have run similar successful events elsewhere.  All costs of running the event will be covered by Dods through advertising and sponsorship from outside the Civil Service.
