Resources - summary of useful resources

Government resources:

  • Spatial Intelligence Network (SpINe). SpINe is an easy, efficient and secure way to share information and analyses on the spatial impacts of the recession and the recovery, as well as providing geographical data, tools and resources to undertake analyses of the spatial impacts of the recession and recovery and spatial analysis more widely. SpINe brings together material from both Government and external sources and is maintained by the Spatial Analysis Unit (SpAU) in Communities and Local Government. SpINe is part of the Knowledge Network platform so requires GSI access, but we're looking at expanding this: http://www.knowledgenetwork.gsi.gov.uk/spine/spinemain.nsf
  • Intra-governmental Group on Geographic Information (IGGI): The Intra-Governmental group on Geographic Information (IGGI) established in 1993, is a cross-departmental group working with partners in the geographic information (GI) industry to co-ordinate and promote the effective use of geographic information (GI) in central government. IGGI members work together, share knowledge and act as a focal point for the central government GI community within their respective organisations. There are now several hundred GI professionals, working in over 300 hundred central government organisations, who are members of IGGI. Its web site can be found at: http://www.iggi.gov.uk/
