Officials have been 'tweeting' from a meeting of the 200 most senior civil servants.

The 'Top 200' of the civil service is meeting today at Sunningdale Park, where the National School of Government is based.

Some officials at the event have been designated 'roving reporters' and are updating the social media site Twitter, using the hash tag #cstop200.

Participants include senior civil servants such as Alexis Cleveland, director general of the Cabinet Office's corporate services group, government communications permanent secretary Matt Tee, and Andrew Stott, the director of digital engagement.

A spokeswoman for the Cabinet Office said: "It is important that the Top 200 – the most senior leaders in the civil service - set an example by leading the way in embracing digital technology and encouraging the civil service to look at new ways of engaging with the public to improve the way we deliver public services."
