Cabinet Office minister Francis Maude has announced a new £10m mutual support programme to provide business and professional services to public sector staff establishing mutuals.
The fund will purchase HR, legal, financial, tax and business planning services for some new mutuals. There will also be a new information hotline.
Maude said: “The government is getting support in place, developing a pipeline of innovative new mutual ‘spin outs’ where employees have real power.”
