Davies started at the OCS on 1 November. He became director of the Strategy Unit, part of the Cabinet Office’s Public Service Reform Group, in 2009, and has also worked as a policy adviser in Downing Street and headed up the change programme in the now-defunct Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills. Between 1994 – when he graduated from Oxford with a degree in philosophy, politics and economics – and 2001, he worked as a PWC consultant.
The Cabinet Office said Davies’ appointment will “directly engage the Strategy Unit’s Behavioural Insights team with Office for Civil Society teams.”
Anderson will leave the civil service at the end of the year. She said she “will be off to pursue different challenges and hope to continue doing my bit for the Big Society”.
