The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games

As a privately funded organisation, The London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) is responsible for preparing and staging the 2012 Games. Working with a wide range of partners from the private, public & third sectors, we consider ourselves fortunate to have the support of Government and its various departments, to help deliver this multi billion pound project.

This commitment to partnership is emphasised by the Government Secondment Programme (GSP) which aims to utilise the diverse skill set that exists in Government to help in the delivery of this project.  The scheme was conceived to allow Civil Servants the opportunity to be seconded to roles at LOCOG utilising existing skill sets, but also at the same time, developing new skills in a delivery focused environment.

As with any organisation of our size, we have a diverse range of ‘functional areas’, many of which can be found within the Civil Service. This includes Finance, Human Resources & IT, in addition to Accreditation, Security, Logistics, Technology, Stakeholder Relations and many in between. As we grow to our Pre-Games size of 2,500 employees, we continue to recruit via direct hiring, volunteers and secondments, many of the latter we hope can come from Government.
