NICS Live 2012
NICS Live 2012 was a fantastic success, bringing over 2,000 NI Civil Servants together under one roof to showcase innovation and discuss the future of government and service delivery by sharing best practice and solutions.
Held on Tuesday 24th April 2012 at the Waterfront in Belfast, this one day event focused on the implementation of the NICS Programme for Government. Numerous high-profile speakers, including senior government representatives from across the NICS, offered their insight into tackling the challenges the civil service faces head on. The event featured sessions, workshops and an invaluable opportunity to network.
The priorities within the Programme for Government are:
- Growing a Sustainable Economy and Investing in the Future
- Creating Opportunities, Tackling Disadvantage and Improving Health and Well-Being
- Protecting Our People, the Environment and Creating Safer Communities
- Building a Strong and Shared Community
- Delivering High Quality and Efficient Public Services
Sessions throughout the day dealt with relevant issues, ranging from IT innovation to cross-departmental cooperation in economic strategy, from the role of social media in achieving customer satisfaction to public service delivery.
