So this is the Civil Service Live Network! What a great idea.

It seems a bit like a 'Facebook' for Civil Servants but without the really annoying apps. I just hope it doesn't end up being a timewasting activity. It certainly has great potential as a tool to share expertise.

Here's my first impressions.

The Good

• Universal access at your desk, nobody is excluded.
• The Group and Blog functions have a great potential to share info.
• The Privacy settings mean you can restrict your content to those logged in.

The Bad

• An introduction on the Home Page explaining what the vision is for this network would be nice.
• A bit clunky and not very intutive.
• Has no help function to speak of.
• Where are the standards of use, surely as a minimum a signpost to the Civil Service Code.
• No discussion forums

So what does everyone else think??
