New chief executive for procurement agency

Alison Littley has been appointed by the Office of Government Commerce as the new chief executive of its commercial trading arm, OGCbuying.solutions.

Alison Littley has been appointed by the Office of Government Commerce as the new chief executive of its commercial trading arm, OGCbuying.solutions (OGCbs). She will be assuming the post on October 2 and takes over from current chief executive, Hugh Barrett.

John Oughton, the OGC’s chief executive, sought to welcome Littley to her new post. “I am delighted to have recruited Alison Littley and I wish her every success in this highly important role,” he said. “Alison brings important private sector procurement skills to her new role, which will further enhance the delivery of savings to the public sector. At the same time, I would like to thank her predecessor, Hugh Barrett, for the excellent work he has done over the last four years in delivering substantial savings to the public purse through more efficient public procurement. We also wish him every success in the future.”

Littley has a procurement background in the private sector and has spent the last seven years working for the leading premium drinks business, Diageo, where she was global demand and marketing procurement director. In this post she was responsible for developing and implementing the global marketing procurement strategy for the business. ‘’I am thrilled to be joining OGCbuying.solutions, and I am very much looking forward to working with the team to build on the success that they have already achieved,” Littley said.
